This got started as a piece for a contest where you had to draw a mechanical beast, but I ended entering other ideas, and this sketch got put aside. A few days later, I saw it resting on my desk and decided to give it one final go. I must say I’m pleased with the results.

Este dibujo inició como una pieza para un concurso que al final fue abandonada. Días después, al ver el dibujo sin terminar en mi escritorio, decidí completarlo. Debo decir, estoy satisfecho con el resultado.

Drawn without any reference. Inked directly without a previous sketch. Kinda reminds me of gargoyles found in ancient French cathedrals.

Long-haired girl/La chica de cabello largo
Ink on paper. Base drawing made with a Faber-Castell Dark Phtalo Blue art pencil. Inked with a Staedler Pigment Liner (tip size 0.3) and Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens, (size B and Big Brush). To fill in large black areas, a Staedler Lumocolor No. 388 permanent marker was used. Colored with Photoshop.
What can I say? There is definitely something about long straight hair that captivates my fancy.

¿Que puedo decir? Hay algo acerca del cabello largo y liso que me cautiva la atención.

Moebius (1938-2012) was a legendary French comic book artist, who influenced generations of illustrators. Federico Fellini, Stan Lee and Hayao Miyazaki were all fans of his work.

To cover large black areas, Staedler Lumocolor permanent markers were used, sizes 350 and 388. For highlights, a white Sharpie Poster-Paint pen was used. Finished with Photoshop. Drawn without use of reference.
Not a big fan of bangs, but I am fascinated at how this hairstyle transforms a girl’s face, making it somewhat doll-like (at least to me). So I made this drawing and after inking her she seemed very Japanese to me, so the red sun seemed like a logical choice. Whaddaya think?

No soy muy aficionado a los flequillos, pero sí me fascina cómo este peinado hace que una chica parezca como una muñeca (bueno, al menos a mi así me lo parece). Cuando ya había terminado de entintar este dibujo, me di cuenta que esta chica parecía algo japonesa, así que el sol naciente parecía algo lógico.
